Bookworm

May 20, 2018

One of my absolute favourite pastimes is reading.  I’ll read just about anything, but I definitely have some genre that I’ll pick over others.  I remember my parents gave me a copy of “Little Women” for my 12th birthday and that was it for me… I was entranced!  That’s where I really made the leap from children’s books into actual novels.  The classics are still my first choice, Austen’s Pride and Prejudice being my all-time favourite.  I also can’t get enough of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series.  Sometimes I want a quick and easy read though, and then I love a good suspense or murder mystery type of book.  (I’ll even read a cheesy historical romance once in a while!)

I work as a 911 fire dispatcher in my “real life” and so we have a lot of down time when there are no fires and such happening.   That’s where I tend to do most of my reading these days, which is a pretty sweet deal when you think about it… getting paid to read!  I recently bought myself a Kindle for the portability factor, and for the free books (I’m an Amazon Prime member.)  I honestly thought I’d never do that since I feel that nothing compares to having an actual book in hand, but I’m getting used to it and I think I’m getting to the point now that I don’t really notice it anymore while I’m reading.

So, what are you reading these days?

Goodies, Goodies, and More!

May 11, 2018

Happy Friday!  Today I have a whole bunch of stuff to show you.  These products have released in the last couple of weeks, but didn’t get posted here because, well, I was a dummy.  🙂  I accidentally let my website security certificate expire, which meant that my page is essentially blocked from viewing.  By the time I got it all figured out, it was too late to post about my new products and my iNSD bundle.  That being said, I’ve decided to keep all three of my recent releases at their initial sale price, so you can still grab them all at 30% off.  I also have a couple of coordinating freebies for you.

First off today I have a really fun, girly collection that I based on the oh-so-wonderful Audrey Hepburn.  I’m Possible features all sorts of sparkly, pretty, and pink goodies, along with some fun and inspiring quotes.  This one is definitely a new favorite!

My next collection celebrates mothers.  Dear Mom is soft and sweet and full of love.

And finally, I have the latest installment in my Week by Week series.  Check it out!

Have you been keeping up?

And now for the part that you’ve been waiting for.  🙂  Enjoy these goodies from I’m Possible and Dear Mom!

“Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you.” -Walt Whitman

It’s the time of year for new beginnings, new arrivals, and new adventures.  Keep your heart and mind heading in the right direction, and the rest will follow.

Have a great weekend!

Looking Back

February 1, 2018

Hello!  What do you think of my new blog styling?  I was ready for a change from the harsher pink and wanted to go into something softer.  I’m loving the new look!  If you read this blog through a service like Feedly or through RSS you may need to update your bookmarks or feed, as I’m also with a new host company.  Now, on to the new goodies!  A new month means a new Buffet and I just loved these soft colours.  Remember that everything is half off through the 5th!

Memories are such wonderful things.  They allow you to go back in time and relive all the best moments of your life.  So take a look back and have a chuckle or a laugh, or even a tear or two… all of those memories have made us who we are today, so they are to be treasured.

Cheers!

Week by Week and Keeping Photos Organized

January 26, 2018

You want to document your year, but time is definitely a constraint.  Keep it simple!  Using a pre-made template system including weekly page templates, simple weekly date cards, and some embellishments can help you get those pages scrapped quickly and easily, with minimal fuss.  Sounds pretty good to me!

I’ll be honest with you, I created these for myself… I’m terribly behind in my own weekly project.  As in, I’m just putting the finishing touches on my 2016 album.  Yes, you read that right!  My plan this year is to do 2017 and 2018 concurrently using the Week by Week templates for both, just changing the dates for my 2017 pages, working on them as I can, and keeping my clustering to a minimum.

Another way that I make it easier to scrap on a weekly basis is the way I arrange my photo folders.  My main photo folder is organized into years, with subfolders for month and event.  So I might have a folder called “2017 Dec – Christmas Day” and another called “2017 Dec – New’s Year’s Eve” and so on for each event.  I also keep a monthly folder for random shots that aren’t tied to any particular event… “2017 Dec – Randoms” or “2017 Dec – Sarah” because I do tend to take a whole lot of pictures of my daughter.

Having said all that, before my pictures go into their final folders, they go into folders that I’ve dated by week.  As I download photos from my iPhone they go directly into the weekly folders which I name accordingly, “Week 1 Jan 1-7”.  This way, when I have time to scrap a page, I can go directly to that weekly folder and choose the pictures for my page.  There’s no hunting around and trying to find things, which saves a lot of time in the end.  Once that weekly page is scrapped I move the photos into their proper folders.  Later, when I want to scrap a page about Christmas, I can just go straight to my Christmas folder.  Make sense?  Despite the wordy explanation, it’s actually really simple to do and helps me immensely.  I’m pretty sure that this system is the only reason I’ve been able to do a weekly project at all!

So how do you keep your photos organized for your weekly projects?

Check out these amazing pages!

These ladies are off to a really great start!
