The best thing about memories is making them!
You know that old saying, “Every day may not be good, but there’s something good in every day”? I try to live by that philosophy as much as possible and look for something positive, even if the day has been really crappy. It helps me put things into perspective and sleep a little better at night. As the 80’s girl I am, “something good” means awesome… like, totally.
I’ve been going through some difficult “stuff” lately which has been very challenging for me. I’m generally a very positive and upbeat person… a half glass full kind of girl. Lately though I’ve been feeling very discouraged, with a real sense of unfairness. I don’t like feeling this way at all, so it was time to do something about it.
I made some positive changes in my life and reminded myself that in the big scheme of things I don’t have it so bad. I know that there are so many who have it much much worse than I do. A little shift in my thinking made a huge difference for me. I made some changes in my life which have really had a positive effect. My creative energies have been unleashed and I just feel better overall. That’s a pretty nice feeling! And that’s how my latest collection, Optimistic, came to be.

Is there anything sweeter than a newborn baby? The way they smell, the little sounds they make, the way they still smunch up into a little ball… these are the little things that (almost!) make me want to have another! We’ve had two new little babies born to good friends in the last month so I’m getting plenty of snuggle and cuddle time. Let me tell you, it sure makes those baby hormones go into overdrive! But then they start crying and I get over it quickly. LOL With four of my own ranging in age from 25 to 6 (yes, that’s right) I think I’m done. But I sure do love those cuddles!

Many of us in my circle of friends have family that live far away or are gone. Because of this we tend to spend our holidays (and almost everything else) together. These are friends that are so much more than friends… they’ve become our family! I’m very lucky to be surrounded by a group of friends who are always there for me… the good times and the bad.
For those of us who can’t spend this Thanksgiving with family, I hope you’ll be able to spend it with a family you’ve created for yourself. Happy Friendsgiving!

Hi there… been a while! I’ve been so busy that I’ve barely had time to design, let alone advertise. I do have a new release for you today, ironically called “Crazy Busy.” This was originally meant to be part of the July Bit’s N Pieces over at SNP, but I just didn’t have time to finish it. I’ve added a nice brown, which I think adds a nice finishing touch to the palette.
Crazy Busy represents a typical day in the life of a mom (or dad)… running around trying to get the kids up and ready for school. Then trying to get yourself out the door to go to work or start your endless errands. Then you come home to try to make some order of things, take the kids to playdates, practices, and other activities. Dinner time, bath time, and finally bedtime! You’d enjoy those few minutes of quiet time if you weren’t so exhausted from your crazy busy day!
