A journey which takes you through a door into a mysterious land of defiance and attitude. You approach this door with trepidation. Beyond it is another dimension – a dimension of friends, a dimension of online games, a dimension of attitude. You’re moving into a land of both moodiness and deceptive glimpses of familiarity, of things and ideas not your own. You’ve just crossed over into the Teen Zone.
It’s our final weekend of our birthday celebrations and it’s been a fantastic month of fun and celebrations! We’ve got a couple of promotions happening this weekend for you too. A new year is always a great time to re-evaluate your goals, dreams, and plans and work on making them come true! We all have some secret (or not so secret) wishes… so what are you waiting for? Shoot for the Stars and make those dreams a reality!
There’s no doubt that life takes us on some crazy adventures, with twists and turns that we can’t always foresee. Sometimes that’s a great thing, other times… not so much. We’re travelling in South Central British Columbia (the Okanagan) on our annual camping trip through wine country. This year has been an interesting one though, since large portions of our province have been devastated by wildfires. We get fires every summer, but this year is gearing up to be one of the worst in recorded history, and has largely been in populated areas. Approximately 40% of those have been human caused, including one fire that destroyed an entire town. We’re safe where we are, with smoky air being the worst of it, but others we know haven’t been so lucky. Family and friends have had to evacuate from their homes, and one couple has lost their home entirely to the fire. We even have some four-legged friends that have been temporarily re-located to our place to keep them safe. This week’s collection has been inspired by these events, although I did want to focus on the good that can come from life’s surprises, rather than the bad. The woods and orange tones are my little homage to the fires. Stay safe out there, my friends!
There’s just nothing like a beautiful sunny day at the water’s edge. Whether you love to fish or just float, the lake is definitely a place to go for some fun and relaxation. We spend a lot of time each summer in British Columbia’s southern interior, where there are many many gorgeous lakes to be found. (All surrounded by amazing wineries… bonus!) We camp and swim and drink wine… my idea of paradise!!!
