Dear Old Dad

June 6, 2018

Did you get a chance to see my June Buffet, Dear Old Dad?  Once again, life took over and I didn’t get a chance to show it off  here.  So, if you missed the Buffet pricing you can still grab it at 30% off through the weekend.  With Father’s Day just around the corner, what better time to show off how much you love the old guy!

Sorry, this is retired

Week by Week June

May 25, 2018

How are you keeping up with your weekly project so far?  I’m slowly but surely finishing up my 2017 pages (the first four pages below are mine) and am thinking about getting started on 2018 finally.  Maybe I’ll even get caught up eventually!  I say this because it’s never really too late to start if you have a little bit of organization when downloading your photos onto your computer.  I always put things into folders labelled by weekly dates, so that’s its super easy to scrap that week when I’m ready.  Generally speaking, when I see the photos I remember the various things I did that week.  It’s pretty rare that I can’t remember what a photo is related to.  Once I’ve scrapped that week the photos get moved into their permanent folders, which I organize into subfolders by year, month, and then event.  Week by Week June is 30% off this week.

I love that these can be easily adapted for multiple photo pages as well.  You certainly don’t need to be scrapping weekly in order to get good use of these templates!  Happy scrapping and have a great weekend!

Adventure: On the Sea

April 13, 2018

Happy Friday!  This week I have the first in a new series I’m working on.  We take a lot of trips (road trips, camping, and occasionally a tropical vacation) and so I thought it high time to start scrapping these adventures.  And thus, my Adventure series!  We were recently on a Caribbean cruise for a friend’s wedding and so I thought it was a fitting place to start.

Adventure On the Sea features a bright palette softened by watercolour elements and includes some cute sea creatures and beachy items for scrapping those shore excursions.

Have a wonderfully adventurous weekend!

Week by Week and Keeping Photos Organized

January 26, 2018

You want to document your year, but time is definitely a constraint.  Keep it simple!  Using a pre-made template system including weekly page templates, simple weekly date cards, and some embellishments can help you get those pages scrapped quickly and easily, with minimal fuss.  Sounds pretty good to me!

I’ll be honest with you, I created these for myself… I’m terribly behind in my own weekly project.  As in, I’m just putting the finishing touches on my 2016 album.  Yes, you read that right!  My plan this year is to do 2017 and 2018 concurrently using the Week by Week templates for both, just changing the dates for my 2017 pages, working on them as I can, and keeping my clustering to a minimum.

Another way that I make it easier to scrap on a weekly basis is the way I arrange my photo folders.  My main photo folder is organized into years, with subfolders for month and event.  So I might have a folder called “2017 Dec – Christmas Day” and another called “2017 Dec – New’s Year’s Eve” and so on for each event.  I also keep a monthly folder for random shots that aren’t tied to any particular event… “2017 Dec – Randoms” or “2017 Dec – Sarah” because I do tend to take a whole lot of pictures of my daughter.

Having said all that, before my pictures go into their final folders, they go into folders that I’ve dated by week.  As I download photos from my iPhone they go directly into the weekly folders which I name accordingly, “Week 1 Jan 1-7”.  This way, when I have time to scrap a page, I can go directly to that weekly folder and choose the pictures for my page.  There’s no hunting around and trying to find things, which saves a lot of time in the end.  Once that weekly page is scrapped I move the photos into their proper folders.  Later, when I want to scrap a page about Christmas, I can just go straight to my Christmas folder.  Make sense?  Despite the wordy explanation, it’s actually really simple to do and helps me immensely.  I’m pretty sure that this system is the only reason I’ve been able to do a weekly project at all!

So how do you keep your photos organized for your weekly projects?

Check out these amazing pages!

These ladies are off to a really great start!

Oh Snap!

January 4, 2018

A photograph is so much more than a moment captured on film. Photos whisk us back to that moment in time and instantly recall to us the sounds and smells, the thoughts and the feelings of the events captured in them.   A photo doesn’t have to be perfect to be great.  Some of my favourite photos are the blurry ones, since they’re often the only picture I have of some wonderful memory.  Anyone with kids will know how hard it is to grab a perfect shot of a little one!

Enjoy!

PS… Since I’m a bit late with my advertising this month, I’ll be keeping the Buffet prices active through the weekend.  Cheers.
