Winter Woods
There are few things quite as perfect as that utter silence and stillness that comes just after it’s snowed. I just love everything about it… the peace, the quiet, the stillness, and even the smell! I’m lucky enough to live very near quite a large wooded parkland area and we’re fairly secluded, which means that the quiet lingers on. There’s something about that special silence that brings me perfect contentment… if even for only a short while.
Christmas Morning
During the Christmas season there’s nothing I love more than sitting in my jammies, coffee in hand, and watching the excitement of Christmas morning on my children’s faces. For just that little while there’s nothing to do but enjoy one another’s company and share laughter and love. It’s what’s so magical about Christmas morning!
Have a wonderful holiday season and Merry Christmas!
Pretty Paper Featured Designer Special and a Sparkly Scoop!
Happy Friday! I’m the Featured Designer over at Sweet Shoppe this week, which means that you can pick up this massive kit FREE with a $10 purchase. Pretty sweet deal! This kit was inspired by the Willie Nelson song, Pretty Paper. It’s a soft, pretty little Christmas song which inspired me to go with soft, pretty kit colours. An added touch of sparkle rounds out this collection quite nicely. In case you’ve never heard of this song before, you can take a listen HERE. Let me know what you think of it!
Keep scrolling below to see a Sparkly new Triple Dip that I made along with LJS Designs and Meghan Mullens. I just absolutely love how that one turned out!
Of course, if you’re looking for more than just the kit, I have you covered…
You can also pick up just the words in my shop if you’re not looking for the whole she-bang:
Check out Lorie’s and Meghan’s shops for the other parts as well!

Feeling Frosty or Feeling Toasty?
We were having a very mild winter in the Pacific Northwest until February kicked in. Then the snow came, and schools shut down and chaos reigned. Now, I know if you live anywhere east of the west coast you’re probably snickering at that statement… “I’ll show you snow!” Here on the coast though, we’re not as accustomed to it. The worst is the ice though. Our days are often above freezing so the snow starts to melt, but then it freezes again overnight leaving a sheet of ice. I actually got into a minor fender-bender the other day because of it. We have a big hill out in front of our workplace. There were a line of cars waiting to get into the parking lot (it’s gated so it takes a moment for each car to scan their passcard). I ended up having to stop midway up the hill. I started sliding backward down the hill. I had very little control but I managed to steer myself toward the curb. The car ahead of me started sliding but she wasn’t as lucky, and her car spun as she slid backward and ended up sliding right into me. The cars ahead all started sliding too. I just put my car in reverse and drove down the street that way until I was able to turn around and find parking on the street. There was a little old man there, a local resident, who was assisting people. He helped me get myself parked and even shoveled a little pathway through the snow so I could get onto the sidewalk. Very sweet! All in all though, not such a great way to start my night shift. I’m not a winter person!
On another note, I’ve also re-released my Looking Back collection. I was actually for OBG (Oldies But Goodies) this week. I apologize that I didn’t get a chance to post about it during the event, however bundles are always 20% off!
