Adventure: On the Sea

Happy Friday! This week I have the first in a new series I’m working on. We take a lot of trips (road trips, camping, and occasionally a tropical vacation) and so I thought it high time to start scrapping these adventures. And thus, my Adventure series! We were recently on a Caribbean cruise for a friend’s wedding and so I thought it was a fitting place to start.

Adventure On the Sea features a bright palette softened by watercolour elements and includes some cute sea creatures and beachy items for scrapping those shore excursions.

Lazy Hazy Days

The heat is on and all you want to do is sit in the shade and sip on some lemonade. Lazy Hazy Days is all about the days when there’s nothing you have to do except sit on the front porch, lay in a hammock, or just generally laze about. It’s just too hot to do anything else!

I must say, this kit is a new favorite of mine. Summer is my season, and these soft colours make me think of being out in the back yard and floating in the pool or just hanging out. You certainly don’t have to limit yourself to the theme though. I can see this kit being used in all sorts of ways. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Let’s Flamingle

I’m coming to you a few days late with my latest but there’s still time to take advantage of the Buffet specials. I’ve gone back to work these last couple of weeks after being off for 5 months. Let’s just say that it’s kicking my butt a bit! I’m a shift worker (fire dispatcher) and I work mainly night shifts, so I’ve had to get back into my night shift mode. I was off long enough to feel like a “normal” person again, so it’s definitely an adjustment! Anyway, it’s thrown off my game a bit, so my apologies. 🙂

Break out that flowered shirt and put on your lei… it’s time to let your inner “tacky tourist” loose for a night. All you need is a fruity drink, colourful patio lanterns, and some lawn flamingos to set the mood. Add in a dashboard hula girl and some ukulele and your night is set! Limbo anyone? Let’s Flamingle!

Just note that it’s not a stand-alone kit, but only some extras to enhance the main kit. There’s a lot in there, but not everything you’d expect to see in one of my kits. Keep that in mind if you pick it up. (Personally, I’d rather get it free with the bundle!)

Backyard Adventures and a Sunkissed Glow

It’s the first of the month and that means I have some new goodies to show you. For both the Buffet and the Bits N Pieces this month I ended up creating outdoorsy kits. With all the sunshine and hot temperatures we’ve been having in the Pacific Northwest lately, is it any wonder?

First off I have this month’s BNP which I called Backyard Adventures. I’ve watched many children at play over the years and I’m always amazed at how their imaginations take flight when they’re outdoors and in nature. It’s awesome!

My Buffet contribution this month, Sunkissed, is all about my love of the sunshine. I’m an 80’s girl… we used to lay out on tin foil and slather on the baby oil for the ultimate golden tan. And while I don’t recommend doing that anymore, I won’t deny that I do like having a little golden sun-kissed look. But it’s much more than that too. Being in the sunshine just gives me a sense of happiness and well-being that I just can’t get any other way. Bring it on!
